Riverside Ave. Heading South Past Foothill Blvd. into
Riverside Ave. in Rialto is a fairly wide 4 lanes of traffice (2 in each direction). As you head south on Riversided past Foothill Blvd. a wider row of trees will separate the opposite flow of traffic as you approach "downtown" Rialto (frankly it’s nothing more that an overgrown stripmall with a few city offices here and there). The speedlimit changes drastically from 45 mph to 35 mph as you pass Foothill heading south, to 15 mph as you cross the railroad tracks into "downtown" Rialto. The cop usually hides somewhere near the railroad tracks. I used to work in a shop in "downtown" Rialto at nights and it never failed that almost every night at least 15 people were ticketed in an 8 hour span. The speed limit is not warranted for that stretch of road. Just because the city wanted to add a bajillion crosswalks every so many yards in downtown (most not even at intersections; just right throught the flow of traffic) and try to slow people down so they could see the stripmall, er shops, doesn’t mean that they should slow traffic down to a crawl. Also, beware, those out of the ordinary crosswalks are also infamous for failure to yield tickets waiting to happen.
