Some people trying to reach the City of Riverside coming from Interstate 10 will bypass the almost always packed Interstate 215 with Riverside Ave.. The stretch of Riverside Ave. from the I-10 exit to the City of Riverside (where it turns into Main St.) has 1 stop sign and only 2 traffic lights, and is therefore used by most locals as an "expressway" between Rialto and Riverside. Just past the Santa Ana Wash Bridge the street turns into a VERY spacious 4 lane road with not 1 but 2 middle turn lanes (6 lanes all together). But amazingly, this same stretch of road sees the speed drop from 55mph to 40mph virtually in the middle of nowhere still. Careful. This is the stretch where the city motorcycle cop hides.
