Several cops using both motorcycles and squad cars will corral drivers who elect to use Riverside Drive as an alternate route to Interstate 5 throught the Los Feliz-Silver Lake area. The posted speed limit is 35MPH — a ridiculously low limit for this straight, non-residential, 5-lane boulevard. It is a classic shake-down, especially well-organized, and the cops are particularly viscious. Be aware.

This is one of those situations that explain why so many law-abiding LA citizens have grown to despise their police department.
