Roswell Road near Lakemoore Drive
Travelling Northbound on Roswell Rd, about halfway between Powers Ferry Rd and Wieuca Rd, (the cops sit almost precicely at Lakemoore Drive) Roswell Rd goes down a fairly steep and very long hill, and it is extremely easy to reach speeds of 50 to 55 MPH if you’re not careful. The speed limit here *used* to be 45 MPH — perfectly safe for a 4-lane road with a turn lane in the middle. But they’ve lowered it down to 35 MPH. Georgia law prevents police from using Radar or Laser to nail you, unless you’re doing more than 9 MPH over the limit. When the speed limit was 45 MPH, they’d nail you for doing 55 (10 over) but they apparently weren’t making enough money that way — so now the speed limit is 35 MPH… You can *very* easily get nailed for doing 25+ over the limit — which translates into a $300+ fine and 3 to 6 points on your license depending on your driving record!
