Route 101

Hampton, New HampshireAug 19, 20021 Comments

101 starts as a back alley with a 25 mph limit then becomes a ramp to a 2-lane expressway of sorts. Speed limit is 50 when you are on the highway. Trap is located just after where the alley turns into a ramp. I was pulled over for "46 in a 25" and I don’t argue with that. Cop was cool and only gave a verbal warning but DO NOT accelerate to 50 until you are ON the highway!

I live In Hampton. Early in the morning there is always a car watching Ocean Boulevard and when you make that turn to go to rte 101, going towards rte .95, there is often another one in that parking lot that splits the road. The you will travel that street and the limit is 25 mph and suddenly turns to 50 mph. There is always, always another car somewhere on that street and they often run your plate, speeding or not! They have plenty of time. You are doomed if you are not clean! Don't go this way! I am clean but drove a buddies car who had gotten a DUI. I was stopped on a regular basis on this 25 mph street simply going to pick him up in the AM to get him to work, on several occasions by the same cop hoping to catch "him" driving! I know this area, I know they are there. I never drove over that limit and yet always stopped....Why? They of course run the plates, speeding or not! They have nothing else to do in the morning, and let me mention. When one cop stops you in Hampton, three more cars will show up! Happens to everybody. They are ridiculous here at the Five Star Beach of Hampton , New Hampshire...Beware, they even stare you down as you drive by! Three years of living here. Never a ticket but I am done with this place. How many times can you tell the boss "I was pulled over"!
