Route 104 eastbound, about a 1 1/2 miles before City Hall
Intersecting with Upper Mountain Road. State law requires speed limit signs every 1100 feet after a speed limit change, and 4000 square feet thereafter. However, while there are most of the required signs going westbound, there is only one going eastbound, for almost 2 miles, which creates the perfect speed trap. As there are multiple intersecting roads, which requires another speed limit sign just past the intersection, and again another sign 1100 feet thereafter, it seems highly coincidental that all of the critical signs are missing. Again, this is just a way for the township to pull in revenues which are not earmarked. I was able to beat my speeding ticket by pointing out the law (they made the ticket disappear), but this is still aggravating. This seems to go on in every small township across the entire rural route (from Lockport using lower mountain road through Bonds Lake) and all the way down 104 into Lewiston westbound as well. If the police want the public to trust them, then scams like these should not exist.
