Route 12

Since this is a tourist area, police have a field day pulling over out-of-staters. After spending a week there, not a day went by that I didn’t see at least 10 cars pulled over. And this was off-season! When I was stopped, I was 100% positive that I was going the posted 35 mph. I was going south and the officer was going north and turned around and came back after me and said that he would GUESS that I was going 50 mph! I also find it fishy that when I got home, I received several solicitations in the mail from NC lawyers offering to represent me to fight the ticket. Makes me wonder!

Comments:
We got a ticket in Currituck County for improper lane change. A state trooper had a car pulled with flashing lights on, we pulled over to the next lane (per NC and VA law) and passed the State car there was a county car in front of it who then came after us and tagged us with improper lane change (although there was no car visible in the side mirror, there was a motorcyclist. There is a turn lane between the north and south bound lanes which he moved into, but he was not forced into oncoming traffic) and yes, we have gotten solicitations from lawyers as soon as we got home.
