Route 123 at Commerce Street
Vehicles marked “Occoquan Police” lay in wait along Rt 123 near the Occoquan River bridge to catch any speeders in either direction along busy Rt 123, notwithstanding that only 300m of the road are physically in that jurisdiction and only one traffic signal-controlled road, Commerce Street, actually intersects Rt 123 and allows access from the town of Occoquan to Rt 123. The Occoquan police lay in wait adjacent to that intersection or along Rt 123, and occasionally even across the Occoquan river where deceleration (unmarked) goes from 55mph to 40mph as it crosses the bridge and nears the Commerce Street traffic signal.
