Route 20 – between the Stewart’s Store & the Catholic Church

Nassau, New YorkFeb 01, 20021 Comments

The Village of Nassau is notorious for their speed traps. While you can be nailed at any hour, the locals love to park in the one of the following three locations: Stewart’s Store parking lot facing west; the Mobil gas station, both directions as well as monitoring the one and only traffic light in town; and the Catholic Chuch parking lot, both directions (the speed limit drops from 55 MPH down to 35 MPH. The road is heavily traveled by comuters going from Pittsfield, MA to the Albany, NY. It’s a guarantee the locals will be out in force on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday nights, particularly between 9 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Comments:
Definitely a guaranteed ticket if you go faster than 35 mph. If a cop is behind me, I get them back by driving 25mph. Talk about road rage. There needs to be a price paid by communities who use excessively low speed limits to raise revenue, little to do with safety.
