Route 80 Turnpike near Interstate 480

Streetsboro, OhioSep 23, 20051 Comments

Ok…for those of you who drive on Route 80..the "paid" turnpike (I say that sarcastically because in my opinion if you’re paying to ride on a road the cops should leave you be), you know what I’m about to talk about.

As you take Rt 80 towards Streetsborough, you will see a few traps. This one in particular will get you: As you get onto Rt 80 from 480 you will climb a huge hill (after you pass the long bridge. Right above this hill will be a cop on the right ready to nail you. I drive this every weekday and would say the cops are there 80% of the time. And there IS a bridge above this spot providing the very real possibility of a scout cop looking down the hill…and getting a speed reading and radioing down to his buddy.

HEED this warning…Hope this saves someone a ticket

Comments:
I've lived in Streetsboro my entire life, and the only "long bridge" I can think of is the one over the Cuyahoga Valley Rec area. It's long, very high, and has a big hill after it; however, it's locate between Route 8 (Hudson) and I 77 (Brecksville) exits. If that's the case, then yes, there's going to be a cop there because the State Highway Patrol is located at the top of that hill. I think you may mean Strongsville exit 163 (Also near a 480 exit) and not Streetsboro (exit 187)
