Roving

Union City, TennesseeAug 28, 20102 Comments

Three White SUVs with camera operated radars. Speeders are photographed, and citations sent. These SUVs are located anywhere they wish to put them.

Comments:
You would think that a police officer would want to make a traffic stop in case there was something illegal in the vehicle. So this does seem like a money making setup.

I just came through Union City early last Sunday morning and was unaware of this roving speed trap. There was a small SUV on the right side of the road with a camera and antenna on the roof. What a poor way to have to make money for this small city. I was aware that coming into Union City from the south was a speed trap and has been for years. Looks like now there is mile after mile of this type of conduct. As a former law enforcement officer I find this type of "enforcement" to be no more than a revenue source. It is not true law enforcement. I assume my taxes helped pay for those SUVs, thanks to the White House.
