East bound, you have a 40 mph zone that has two side streets that are well hidden. Cops sit on these with radar. At the end of the 40 mph is the 30mph that goes all the way thru town. DO NOT SPEED!! This turns into a short 35 mph and goes to a 45mph the rest of the way out of town and about 400 feet past the R/R crossing. The town cops are out at all times of the day or night. Including very early AM..

Comments:
The town of Roy is a speed trap unless you know the town well you can't see posted limits, I understand times are tough for the city, but what they are doing will not encourage people to visit, I will drive 20 miles out of the way to avoid the town, and do not expect fair treatment from the judge it is all about making money

Sorry folks. I live in Roy and this is definitely NOT a speed trap. Not only are the signs CLEARLY posted, but all of the areas where speed is reduce have additional signs clearly posted notifying you of the change well before it happens. The worst sign is as you approach from the north (the description above is if you are coming from the south) but, if you are already observing the 45 MPH speed limit, it becomes visible in plenty of time for you to slow down with gentle braking. I believe there are even signs stating that the speed limit is strictly enforced. There are three speed limits in the city on the road that is the subject of this report; 45 on the north side, 40 on the south side, and 30 in the main part. There is also a sharp turn with a recommended speed of 10. Roy is a VERY small town - it takes about two minutes to get from one city limit sign to the next. However, it is situated on a major route for the area's rural residents to get to the city, so it has a lot of commute traffic. We only have three cops but, with such a small population, traffic is one of their major duties. I don't know what happened with the other person who commented, or the 7 who claim this is a speed trap, but don't expect the judge to let you off unless you can show that one of the speed limit signs was covered - and I've never seen that.
