This trap works in both directions as the speed transitions from 55 to 35mph in this spot. As you run Northbound on Rt. 1 the limit is 35mph but with 4 lanes you feel you can go faster and as you rise over the hill to the Taste of Maine Restaurant. County Sheriff Cruisers wait in the parking lot beside the bushes so you cannot see them until you crest the hill and hit you with the radar. Once over the hill you transition to 55mph AFTER the restaurant. DO NOT accelerate too early as they can get you until you pass the Speed Limit sign at the BOTTOM OF THE HILL! Southbound they get you from the same parking lot as you rise up the hill it transitions from 55 to 35mph. As you pass the 35mph you come into view from the same spot. They run radar in both directions at various times year round. Always have you head up in this spot as there are few if any warnings issued here!!!
