Rt. 224 westbound from Pennsylvania State line into Poland, Ohio

Poland, OhioOct 16, 20111 Comments

The trap location set-up entering into Ohio from Pennsylvania have varied over past 20+ years, but have remain consistent to date. The local Poland cops love nailing out-of-state license plates going westbound heading into Poland, Ohio (i.e. Pennsylvania shoppers headed to malls, etc), even if it’s cloudy & raining! I appealed our ticket; the cop was a no-show @ the hearing, but we ended up having to pay regardless. What has been poorly disguised as traffic safety for decades has been a sneaky revenue scam, concocted by political hacks of Poland & thousands of podunk boroughs/tinsel towns across America!! Whenever possible, never give up on your appeals & rights to stand up to these weight-shifting political hacks & bullies!!

Comments:
As you exit Pa the speed limit is 45 mph. It turns into 55 mph approximately a tenth of a mile down the road. The Poland Township ‘heroes’ like to sit at a fuel station on the right hand side of the road as you enter Ohio. This is where westerly drivers see the sign and begin to pick up speed and the majority of them get busted. Traveling West into Poland Village there is only one sign posted from the state line stating that the speed limit is 55. I have written to the State and asked them to add more 55 mph speed limit signs between the state line a Struthers Road in both an posted easterly and westerly direction. You see Pa drivers tend to not observe posted signage and travel this rural country road at a leisurely 40 mph (rural roads can be travelled at 55 unless otherwise posted). I was advised that Poland Township declined the signs be posted. I live in the area and several years ago actually witnessed a Poland Township patrolman/ticketmaker taking the 55 mph speed limit sign down at the state line. I told the state about it and they forwarded my email including my name, address and phone number to the Poland Township police department. I have since been ticketed twice for driving over the speed limit and lost both battles in court. Can you imagine how many tickets Poland has to write in order to support their police department? Beware! These parasites aren't out there to lookout for your safety, they’re there to clean out your wallet.
