After 10 PM, drivers on Route 70 should expect to be stopped. Radar traps, patrols, occasional check points. Aggressive enforcement of parking offenses with over-the-top fines have helped turn the Union Ave commercial district into a ghost town. Exhibit A of the downward spiral that occurs when when small town government substitutes tickets for taxes.
