rush river dr between windbridge and greenhaven

Sacramento, CaliforniaSep 24, 20101 Comments

there are 3 senior centers on this part of the street, and the speed limit for some reason is reduced to 25 mph. the motorcycle cop with the radar sits opposite the alsheimer place-primrose-usually behind a parked car.

Comments:
The reason the speed limit has been dropped to 25mph is because the street has residential housing on it and then there's the two retirement homes in addition to an Alzheimer's treatment facility. Even with the speed limit dropped to 25mph that hasn't stopped a number of people from regularly driving that stretch of road at speeds in excess of 70mph. In recent mornings I've observed a white Ford 4x4 tearing out of Still Breeze Way, failing to stop at the corner, and then tearing on to Rush River eastbound. The vehicle is driven by a white male and he's so far managed to nearly hit a blue Prius (on the 25th) and the #7 bus (on the 28th). I only wish the police or the CHP would nail this SOB before he kills someone. That said, this is not a speed trap - it's a place where the police are doing their job to make the street safer.
