S. California Avenue near Bridge over the river

Parker, ArizonaOct 17, 20071 Comments

Crossing the Colorado River from California into Parker Az it’s posted 35 mph. There are several signs and a truck inspection station on the right side just past the bridge. Partially hidden in the signs is a 25 sign just before the station. The Parker PD grabs you at this spot and my wifes ticket for 10 over was over the $300.00 mark. About 1/4 mile past the 25 sign it returns to a 35 zone. It is interesting to note that if you are traveling on the other side of the road towards California the speed limit remains 35 mph.

Comments:
I live up from that spot for 16 years. I have NEVER done 25 there. I keep it to 35. I have never gotten a ticket there. If you get one you are doing well over 40. If they write it up in a 25 zone, and you were doing over 40, you deserve the ticket. FWIW, they rarely trap that spot. Usually they are further up the road at a 35 zone. People who are dumb enough to speed in a small town with five law enforcement agencies, one of which always has a car before the enforcement zone deserve the ticket. I am not a speed limit guy. I average 70 in 55 zone everyday. It is a matter of people being stupid.
