SC. # 9 and SC. #21

Fort Lawn SC is one of those small South Carolina towns who’s only reason for having a police dept. is to bring in lots of revenue. This is a 2 man dept. that also includes approx 3-4 reserve officers. The chief has stolen by way of the county council, an extra three miles to plunder mainly out-of-towners. The officers will give you a city ordinance ticket for "Unsafe Operation Of A Vehicle", this will cost you no points on your license, but will cost you up to $600.00. Aword of advice OBSERVE the speed limit I was ticketed for 6 mph over the speed limit, even SC highway patrol gives you 10-15 mph. I was ticketed inside the city limits but if you get a ticket outside the city limits but inside of 3 miles, get a lawyer to beat the ticket then sue the dept. and the city for false arrest, don’t let these guys bully you.

Comments:
Tickets are turned into the state. The insurance companies access this info and treat the ticket just like it had points. I found this out in Lancaster, SC, much to my surprise. Call your insurance agent to confirm.
