school zone on East Maple Street
Flashers for the 20 mph when kids are coming to school are on after kids are (or supposed to be) inside the school… which is way back off the street. Don’t accelerate at the stop light, as this, according to the officer, seems to be a common problem as well as mine this morning). Perhaps they should put another 20 mph flasher here if there is real concern for the school kids. Watch even when you’re out of the school zone on Maple. The officer claimed I was doing 47 mph here (33 mph in the school zone after the light). I had looked at my speedometer after I saw his lights and I was still doing 33 mph, which is indeed below the 35 mph posted limit, and no where near 47 mph. I informed him that there was no way I was doing 47, and he said he wouldn’t ticket me for the out of the school zone violation… nice of him, considering I wasn’t speeding.
