School zone on east side of Kiowa on Highway 86
The town currently has two sets of flashing school zone warning lights in both directions through town. One set flashes while the other does not. The sign flashes until 4:30 p.m. when the Kiowa high school website shows the last class lets out at 3:15 p.m. The placement of the signs is purposely confusing and misleading and the speed zone extends far beyond the time school is in session.

I was recently ticketed there. Ticketing officer said that the lights were flashing. flashing and I looked carefully. After receiving a $320 ticket .......... I went back to double check. When I returned after 5-10 minutes (the delay from being stopped and ticketed), the lights WERE NOT flashing. While I was there taking photos of the area for my defense, the lights then started flashing.

I believe that they either have defective lights, or they are being remotely controlled.
