Sheridan Road

Kenilworth, IllinoisNov 13, 20091 Comments

All along the miniscule stretch of Sheridan Road in the little town of Kenilworth the police of this town regularly stop drivers going even two mph over the speed limit (30 mph). Enforcement is primarily radar and sometimes pacing.

Speeding on Sheridan road. From my personal experience having been on the job in Kenilworth I can tell you that yes, that area is enforced as it should be, however It is not a trap in any fashion. I would allow up to 10-12 miles over before I would write a citation. Stop a speeding car? If I had stopped every car that went 2-3 miles an hour over the posted limit of 30mph I would be there 24 hours a day. That area is only 5 blocks long. My fastest speeding car was clocked on radar at 84 miles an hour. The citizen a local, was charged with reckless driving and paid a hefty fine. J D F ...star#'s 15-8-602 resigned in 1974
