This is not a speed trap, but a poorly marked “no right turn on red”. The ticket issued is for “failure to comply with a traffic control device” and is a $231 fine. The signs are not posted in accordance with the MUTCD ( Manual for Uniform Traffic Control Devices) and I have observed officers making stops of vehicles that actually had a right turn green arrow at this intersection. The signs are posted 100 yards back from the signal on the right side, and next to the adjacent signal for the straight lane of traffic, NOT under the signal for the dedicated right turn lane. Southbound with your visor down, the sign is completely obscured, even if you have a clear view of the dedicated signal for this lane of traffic.
