Beware the stretch of South Main Street as you approach the Bannertown area. Mount Airy PD loves to clock cars during the AM traffic rush and sometimes the PM rush as it is a feeder road to Highway 52 for commuters. Officers will locate themselves in business parking lots anywhere from the Nissan dealership on down to Neighbors. Its easy to be going fast here as this area goes from four lane to two lane just before this stretch. The police cruisers are normally not well hidden but because of the line of sight on this road, you won’t see them until their radar has seen you. If you are going 5 mph over or more, you are likely to see blue lights!
