Approaching wildlife management area is a rise just beyond entrance. Cop waits for cars to come over rise, usually in acceleration mode to climb the rise, and nails drivers at the top of the rise. Also, most folks, many on the way to beautiful NW Iowa lakes area, have just come off 70 mph I-90 in nearby Minnesota and may not see 55 mph signs. Road is new, smooth and uncrowded. All elements combine in recipe to make it easy hunting for local law enforcement. Cops are polite, make usual nosey inquiries in friendly way, but don’t the aw shucks demeanor fool you. They are bound to get money out of drivers’ pockets for Dickenson County (IA) coffers. No speed safety issues here, just revenue enhancement for county.
