Southfield Southbound Service Drive Expressway near Between 9 Mile & 8 1/2 Mile Roads

Southfield, MichiganAug 12, 20071 Comments

The speed limit is 30 MPH starting at 9 Mile and changes to 40 MPH just past the ‘crossover’ to 9 Mile for the northbound service drive side. The police cars sit on the southbound side streets clocking with a radar gun. The speed changes are not obvious the way the signs are posted. Once they run your plate, they will issue an ‘obstucting traffic’ administrative ticket to "help you avoid points on your license for insurance purposes." These tickets are for 100.00 and are non-contestable.

Comments:
I live close to this location and use the service drive daily. And I can comfirm that the police sit at the first house on Nadol with radar pointing north towards 9 mile road. it is a thirty mile zone there, but two blocks futher south at the cross over bridge, it changes to a 40mph zone.
