St. Charles Rock Road and Eminence Ave.
I recently took the City of St. John to St. Louis County court to fight a speeding ticket I received at the subject location. While I was ultimately found guilty, I was successful in spending hundreds, if not thousands, of the city’s money in lawyers fees and the cost of associated witnesses. They certainly didn’t make any money off of my alleged violation. The prosecutor also freely admitted that the city did not have any engineering studies on file (per the MUTCD), and that the city council had voted to set the speed limit on that street to an arbitrary 20 MPH. He also said he didn’t see anything wrong with that, despite it violating both state and federal law.
