I received a ticket in the mail for over $200.00 in June 2012 for going 13 miles over the speed limit in Star Valley. I am from Colorado so I just ignored the ticket. It is now February 2013 and I have never heard anymore from them. My advise to out of state drivers is throw the ticket in the trash.

DO you all find it funny that we get tickets for 58 or 59 MPH. That should tell you that something is wrong with their system. I don't think we all just happen to be going the same speed; as if it was a plan. I got my notice just a last week. I was not sure where mile marker 255 on highway 260 was. I had to look it up. How do you defend an action you don't even know happened until you get this notice in the mail two weeks later? Can’t I tell you for sure what I was doing at this point in time? NO. I can tell you, I do not make it a habit to speed. Everyone I know slows down when they are in a Town regardless of seeing a speed limit sign; therefore I have a hard time thinking that there are all of these people speeding through this town and all at the same speed. What really happens if you don’t pay??? I live in New Mexico. I don’t have the time or money to go back to this place and fight the ticket. $200.00 is a lot of money to pay for something I know I did not do. My sister was in the car with me and she could not believe I got this notice.

I recently drove through this town, and when I got home (to Colorado) I had two tickets waiting for me..I thought they just sent a duplicate copy but on closer examination, I discovered there were two separate citations recorded at exactly the same time but a mile and a half apart on the same road..EB HWY 260 mile 255.26 and 256.84...One for 57mph and one for 58mph in a 45 zone...The time stamp was identical, 10:07 am on both citations. They are demanding $425 to clear the two tickets issued at the same moment on the same road......

Arizona law requires you to be SERVED PERSONALLY.. that is, an officer of the court or a process server must HAND YOU IN PERSON an official ticket in order for the court to obtain personal jurisdiction over you and for a summons to be official. If this has not happened, then you have a piece of paper sent by a private for profit company HOPING you'll be scared and pay their ransom note. It is not an official summons from the city or the court. US mail is NOT sufficient service of any official summons in Arizona. Do not go to their website. Do not call the number. Do not implicate someone else. Toss it. And do not support Star Valley in ANY WAY. Just pass them up and get gas, food, snacks in Payson. It's only a few miles down the road.
