I moved to Greenville about 30 years ago, one of the very first things my coworkers told me was when going up Hwy 1 DON'T SPEED IN ROSEDALE. Slow down early, the n/b road makes a series of bends coming in to town and the limit goes 55-45-35 in just a few hundred feet. A jerk city cop stopped me at 4AM some years ago, had his lights on before I even got up to him, first words out of his mouth were a snarled "Gimme your license!" (word for word quote). Told me he clocked me coming around that last bend at 45 in a 35, when I pointed out that last bend was a 45 zone and, oh yes, still OUTSIDE the city limits, he barked "We can just go downtown and discuss it at the station if that's what you want." Gave me a ticket and confiscated my license, said they can do that for out of state drivers. Greenville, MS is out of state from Rosedale, MS???? I had to miss half a day of work to go to court, the jerk didn't bother to show up! Judge asked "Where is he?", Clerk replied "Oh Jedge, he be at his real job." (again a quote). Needless to say, ticket dismissed although he did warn me he didn't want to see me in his court again. I told him it wasn't my doing that I was there in the first place and thank heaven he laughed. Moral of the story: Going through Rosedale? Watch your butt!
