State Highway 13 near court Street

Dover, DelawareOct 18, 20081 Comments

police bikes sit in the old valero gas station parking lot across the street from advance auto parts. the speed limit goes from 50 to 35mph. you don’t see them till you are right on them.

Comments:
Typically on a highway like this, the speed limit is 50. My question is this: Why does it all of a sudden turn to 35, a speed a little over residential??? It make absolutely no sense, other than for the sole reason to set up a speed trap to generate revenue. If the reason is because of the businesses that are ahead, then why does the speed limit go up to 45 in the same type of area where there are businesses? Can anyone think of a logical reason for the speed to reduce down to 35 on a highway in that particular area?
