All around Gunnison there is heavy, heavy radar-enforced speed traps. It is recommended that you not speed anywhere near the area. You will often see people pulled along the side of the road being ticketed.

This area is a 25 mph zone, and for good reason, it is a dense business district with lots of foot traffic. But I wouldn't call it a speed trap. Slow down to the speed limit, watch for cars pulling of side roads, and pedestrians, and again, you won't get a ticket. We like our visitors, so follow state law and yield to pedestrians and slow down, or don't come to visit.
