State Highway 15 near Nadeau Sandpit/Cement Factory ~1m e/o Johnson Village

Johnson, VermontSep 12, 20080 Comments

Newly rezoned stretch of VT15 east out of Johnson. Formerly 35mph transitioned to a 50mph at this point. They changed the signs last week without fanfare or warning, to *40 MPH* from the top of the hill coming out of the east side of Johnson village, from the Nadeau sandpit/cement factory and continuing for ~.5 mile stretch of VT15 continuing around the curve. Observed Lamoille County Sheriff’s truck (marked, w/lightbar) on north side of road, adjacent to the sandpit property, concealed around a blind curve. PAY ATTENTION! THIS IS NEWLY REZONED TO 40 MPH! LCSD is desperate for money due to a big cut in the police budgets, which seems to be the main factor behind the recent increase (last month/so) of abusive speed enforcement activity. Routine instant-on head-on RADAR, as well as sneaky pacers are being aggressively utilizied all over the county as well. LCSD focuses heaviest enforcement efforts in the AM/PM rush hours and mid-day lunch hours.
