State Highway 150 Hwy near State Highway 3 miles east of 291 south

Greenwood, MissouriMar 31, 20062 Comments

The speed limit on the highway drops from 55 to 35, they set right there, if your haven’t slowed by the time your past the sign your caught, a school zone sets right in the middle of town which makes a ticket even more expensive, the city limits have moved 2 miles east of town to Smart road, so after having to crawl thru town, don’t get in a hurry they’ll be waiting , one mile over & your busted

I've lived in Greenwood, Missouri and have gotten a couple of speeding tickets, but I was doing 15+ over the speed limit -- 50 in a 35 speed limit. I had gone past two 35 mile per hour signs on 150 highway before I ever saw a police car which was the school. I was busted, but it was my fault. I have had people tell me that they got a speeding ticket for doing 1 mile per hour either in Greenwood, Kansas City, Independence, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Lee's Summit, etc. and everytime I ask to see their ticket, they change their story to they were doing 10 miles or more over the speed limit. If you could send me a copy of a speeding ticket from any of the cities from the metropolitan area that shows that they received a ticket for doing 1 mile per hour over the speed limit, then I will personally take it to the news media and the City Council. Otherwise, I believe you might be deviating from the truth.

By the way, the state sets the speed limit for the highway, not the city. The state does all kinds of reports and studies in regards to road conditions, accidents, along with traffic flow, usage and population density. Then they take all of the data and set the speed limit. Just FYI.
