Rio Vista is one of the more active and notorious speed traps in Texas. What's particularly treacherous about this one are the long stretches of reduced speed on either side of town. Unsuspecting motorists are apt to speed up where it looks like they've left the town when in fact they have not. It's deceiving. Watch the signs carefully. If you haven't actually spotted a sign that allows you to speed up beyond 50 mph, don't do it.
