State Highway 18 South

Agra, OklahomaJan 23, 20033 Comments

It is well known, that if you are a stranger traveling through Agra, you better be on your toes. The police will pull over and ticket vehicles which are not familiar. The speed limit signs reduce fast, and if you aren’t at or below that speed when you reach the sign, you are in big trouble. And there’s no talking out of a ticket either.

Comments:
I left my brother-in-laws and he told me, If you go through agra make sure you do the speed limit or less. I was doing less and still got a ticket for speeping. How do you fight this?

The want to be officers hide in plane sight at the north end and south end of town and use antiquated, non calibrated radar systems to trap speeders. if you are two miles over the speed limit this equated to ten over on a ticket. The speed limit in this town also depends on the last name of the violater. and yes they do prey on out siders. (non Agra residence)

Driving through town the other evening, I was stopped. Officer, in tee-shirt, said that he stopped me for tag light out. I then pointed to the functioning tag light (his car lights illuminated my tag so you couldn't tell the light was on - but in the dark it functions normally). He then told me that he wanted to check my license and insurance while he had me stopped. When I expressed that I didn't think he needed to do that since he stopped me for no reason, he threatened to take me to jail. Officer was obviously fishing for any violation he could find.
