State Highway 198 near State Highway 43

Hanford, CaliforniaSep 08, 20071 Comments

The entire stretch of Hwy 198 is patrolled by the new CHP recruits daily. There are 2 sub stations on this highway and have mulitple CHP cruisers and Pickup trucks on this highway at any one time. The Pickup truck CHP have radar aiming forward and backward. So just because you are approaching from the rear doesn’t mean your not being tagged. KA-band is what’s in use so an Escort x50 will notify you well in advance without the falses cheap detectors will give (ie whistlers, cobras). CHP recruits drice with their radar continuously ON so a detector is mandatory if you commute on this highway. On the section that are 2 lane instead of 4, the limit is 55, not 65. These section are where they make all their money with $200 to $300 speeding tickets. Near the end of the month is when they most enforce.

Comments:
The CHP in Kings County are also now utilizing LASER, not just KA-Band.
