State Highway 22

Barling, ArkansasDec 20, 20032 Comments

The Zone is the whole town, but the one spot that confuses me is the 25 Mile an Hour School Zone on State Highway 22. The only problem is that the school isn’t on SH-22 it is 3/4 of a Mile off of it. The State Highway is a 4 Lane Non Divided with a Turn Lane in the Middle… Really, What Parent is going to send thier kid off to school and have them cross that road to get to school in Fort Smiths Rush Hour. Other Spots SH-22 By Fort Chaffee Military Base…Not Even Supposed to Be inside city.. it was annexed to work traffic on SH-22 and SH-59 by the Arkansas River Bridge..Also watch out for Unmarked Cars in Barling they have One Intrepid and One Impala the other cars are very well marked

A lot of children have to cross this street (hwy 22) to get back and forth to school. There is usually an officer there to help the children cross, if there is not, you can bet one is watching. You only have to slow down at certian times of the day. i.e. before and after school.
