State Highway 22 near mud creek

Dresden, TennesseeMar 21, 20053 Comments

hwy 22 south changes from 65 mph to 45 mph with one warning sign and one 45 mph speed limit sign. this is one mile north of old city limits. seems they have found a new source of revenue. BE AWARE

Comments:
This is a lie...the speed drops from 65 to 55 then to 45 and is well marked with warning signs and speed limit signs.

You posted to something that was nearly five years old at the time. You think maybe the signage may have changed since then?

I would simply avoid Dresden all-together. I had the misfortune of catching up with a slow-moving cop one night back when highway 22 was two-lane and was ticketed for "following too closely"! I had never heard of being ticketed for "following too closely" in a situation in which a wreck did not occur. It wasn't even an option on the ticket. He had to write it in! This was in February (a short month), so I am guessing that he was behind on his quota of tickets for that month! By the time he was done with me, there were three police cars behind me, all of which had their blue lights on! I had never been so embarrassed and humiliated in all of my life! Fortunately, no one who knew me happened by that night. I have not spent a single penny in Dresden since that night, and now I just avoid Dresden all-together. My sister didn't believe any of this, but she, too, was pulled over for "speeding" during the highway 22 road-widening project. There were indeed NO speed-limit signs posted along that stretch at that time. We double-checked it on the way back, just to verify that fact. There was only a sign covered up in black plastic. At least this particular officer was polite (unlike the one who had stopped me earlier), and did not write her a ticket. Just avoid Dresden entirely. They aren't worth it!
