Troopers hide along the roadway and use radar to establish speed. Area is designated 45 mph which is unrealistic for the area. This is about 4 miles north of the intersection of Hwy 20 and US 231.

Yes, this is a speed trap, but it is about 2.5 miles north of the intersection of Hwy 231 and Hwy20. The posted speed limit is 45mph because this half-mile section of Hwy 231 runs thru the town of Fountain, FL, where residents of all ages live. It is a speed trap because few drivers obey the posted speed limit, especially some visitors from out of state and our State's finest are doing their jobs trying "to protect and serve" those who call this small rural community home. The solution is simple: obey the posted speed limits, here and elsewhere.
