The speed limit drops to 55 from 60 without enough signage.

Longtime Roanoke resident, here. I drive 67 mph all the time on U.S. 24 in the 60 mph zone, dropping to 55 when I hit the town's 50 mph limit. I've never been bothered, and I'm pretty sure you won't be, either, unless you do something ill-advised right in the face of a cop. Town cops and ISP do like to hang out at the Lassus Handy Dandy convenience center (U.S. 24 and Vine St.). On the other hand, the town has recently cut its force to only one full-time officer, the town marshal himself.
