State Highway 28 near Smoky Mountain Expressway

The four lane between the Smoky Mountain Expressway (Hwy #19) and Stecoah is a regular enforcement area for the NCHP. The court in Robbinsville is usually filled with people who got ticketed on that stretch. Anyone is vulnerable, but they especially target motorcycles. It is a new road with almost no driveways and should be quite safe at 60-65 mph, but the limit is 55. I’ve seen groups as large as 8 or 9 motorcycles stopped along there.

Comments:
I travel this road on a regular basis. There are a few hidden driveways and one place that looks like it was created as a pull off for the patrol. One can expect to see at least one cop. Sometimes they travel in pairs separated by about a mile, so you pass one and think thats it.... but the second guy is ready to nail you. North Carolina is going to keep Chrysler Corporation in business by themselves simply by restocking the highway patrol with the souped up Chargers, and the cops love to hammer down on that stretch of road.
