State Highway 29 near US Highway 82
Bradley is a town of less than two hundred people 18 miles south of US 82 and five miles north of the Louisana state line. The town limits are only one-half mile wide. Speed limit signs go from 55 to 50 to 45 to 40 in a few yards. The town of Bradley has two police cars and one at least is 24/7 and sit in the parking lot of the only building (a gas station) on the highway, which is at the 40 mile limit sign so they shoot the radar at that sign. They expecially like trucks going from IH 30 in Hope, Ark to IH 20 in Shreveport, La. Traffic fines are 91% of town’s total revenue. The state of Arkansas has tried to eliminate this trap but so far has only been able to raise the limit from 25 to the current 40 mph.
