Anywhere inside the city limits on 291, approx 1.5 miles
Police sit along the side of the road in unmarked Ford Explorer or unmarked Dodge Charger

Comments:
The approximate 1.5 mile stretch of 291 hiway from just south of 58 hiway to about the entance to saddle brook estates is the cities money maker. I've been driving this stretch for about six years going to and from work in Lees Summit. I've recieved two speeding tickets one deserved and the other one they clocked me about amile up the road and stopped me at 58. I had my cruise control set and had been passed by a fast moving van that turned into a driveway shortly after passing me. I explained this to the officer to no avail. Missing work for a speeding ticket aint worth it. I've been stopped for traveling too slow thru 58 hiway intersection, 35 mph. I've been ticketed for a tail lite out, $100. I've been ticketed for a headlite, $100. So now I do a walk around inspection prior to my trip. These characters resemble hiway robbers more than police. I'm 71 yrs old so I've been stopped over the yrs for similar violations but usually appreciated the stop and the warning to fix the tail lite or headlite. From what I see daily and the frequency they stop people they are probably bringing in from $400 to $700 a day to city coffers. So my suggestion is avoid the area or be really careful. Lake Winnebago is defininitly a speed trap. Quite often they'll be sitting off the hiway or may use a hand held and radio ahead so watch it. Good luck.
