the kure beach police park out of sight to catch tourist & motorist rushing to catch the fort fisher to southport ferry in the morning hours.they pull into one of the many vacation home driveways along the hiway between kure beach and the fort fisher state historical site. departing ferry traffic should also be very cautious.also, the time before the last ferry of the evening is a favorite time for the police to lay in wait.those who plan to use the ferry should allow plenty of time to catch the ferry and can call (1800byferry) for up-to-date ferry departure times
