Those traveling through Creola, AL should maintain the posted speed limits. As an EX-Creola Police Corporal, I wrote many tickets while working with the department. Where Creola is widely considered a "Speed Trap" town, these allegations were found to be FALSE by an Alabama investigation of citizen complaints. As a Creola Police Officer, we could NOT write a speeding citation unless the suspected violator was going a minimum of 15 miles per hour OVER the posted speed limit. THAT'S RIGHT! If the speed limit posted is 35, the violator had to be going 50 miles per hour before we were authorized to stop them........................THIS IS A FACT! And YES, we stayed busy writing citations, even with the 15MPH restriction on speeding citations.
