My mother recently moved to Hemlock, and I had never been there before. After going an hour out of the way in the wrong direction, I got back on track and set my cruise control to just under 55, so I could keep an eye on the road for landmarks. At this point my 3 month old daughter was sick of being in her car seat and started crying, which caused my 2 year old daughter to start crying that she wanted out to eat. Mcdonalds was just ahead and on my list of landmarks, so I pulled in to get her a yogurt. I noticed an officer behind me when his lights on, pointing for me to park, so I did. I was confused, I had no idea what I was being pulled over for. Turns out I was speeding, he asked me if I knew it was only 30, or if I saw him parked. When I left I kept an eye out for the speed signs, and realized that it was a speed trap. I got a ticket for 23 over, and I am not even sure if my speed was docked after it really did change to 30. I've had two previous speeding tickets before I became a parent and was irresponsible. I would never intentionally break the law with or without my kids in the car, or ever do something that would put them in harms way. Sorry about the long story, I am just wondering if anyone else has received a ticket for speeding before actually hitting the 30mph zone, and if anyone has some advice about this? I sent the ticket in without signing or checking an option, with the explanation, but nowhere in it did I admit to being guilty.
