State Highway 5 near State Highway 22
Just east of Gaylord on Hwy 5, the 55 mph speed limit (that would have been raied to 60 if MnDOT had not been talked out it if by the state patrol) is not only strictly enforced, but if your plate has a state other than Minnesota on it, they’ll gladly add about 10 mph to the speed you were actually traveling, since they figure you won’t travel that far to fight it. This happened to my cousin from South Dakota. So, if you ever have to drive through here, you’d better crawl at the underposted 55. If you’re from out of state, you’d better go 45…or better yet…don’t go there at all!
