State Highway 50 near Between Hwy 29 and Phillips Road
Not many businesses located on this highway. The speed limit of 40 MPH is considerably low on this 4 lane highway. One can easily and safely find themselves traveling at 50-55 MPH. However, local law enforcement daily watches for anyone traveling over 45 MPH. Oddly, further out of town, this highway turns into a 2 lane at 55 MPH.

In all honesy this could be a speed trap. I have been lucky so far. I'll be the first to admit I don't do 40 MPH through there. The speed limit is well displayed. I will just say that that stretch of road is patroled more heavily than others in Lanett that might need it worse. Face it, if you do more than the posted speed, "you are speeding".
