State Highway 515/5 near State Route 52

Traveling south on 515/5 from Blue Ridge towards East Ellijay just before the hill into E.Elijay town there is a speed trap. There is no reduce speed sign of 65 to 55 prior to the "hill" in East Ellijay when the speed drops to 45. Everywhere else on this highway is a reduce speed sign. The sign for speed limit 55 is easily missed since it is right after the street sign for HWY 52. Look for it. It seems to be at the end of the month when most enforcement is done. Quota time. Cops admit they catch many people here. Maybe they should post a reduce speed limit sign, but then again they’d lose all their funds.

This is definitely a speed trap. When you drive south from Blue Ridge you see nothing but trees, road, and other cars. You are clocked before you get to the zone, so if it appears that you are not slowing down. ie. hit your brakes, then they will come after you. So even if you know to slow down, and don't slow down significantly, they will drive until they catch up with you no matter how long it takes. They even stated that "I eventually slowed down. I was driving slow when i saw them in my rear view mirror. Pulled over, not realizing what they wanted and they gave me a citation 68 in a 45. I drove back to two miles to see how it was marked. They say it is clearly marked. They have four signs, no flashing lights. The signs come at you two and two. And the 45 second two 45 speed limit sign is smaller than the first. And it is down hill so you can't hit coast to a slow speed, you have to hit your brakes to a slow speed.
