State Highway 54 between Bowling Green and Vandalia
Typical changing speed signs spaced spaced far enough apart that if your not alert the next one may be ignored because it is assumed to be the same as the last. They vary downward as you enter farther into downtown where police cars are behind buildings out of sight.
I observed the nabbing of the car in front of me and was lucky to get through without being stopped. On inquiry at a local restauranut in Vandalia I was told that Curryville was definitely a speed trap. The reason I am posting this warning is because, although Curryville is an out of the way small town, many people from the St. Louis area travel U.S. 61 to Hwy 54 to get to Vandalia to review and purchase low overhead furniture. Traffic tickets are, therefore, a main source of revenue for the coffers of entreprenurial Curryville.
