State Highway 69

Oh yeah, this town has a HIGH enforcement of the 55mph speed limit. There is a cop sitting at the high school or town square all day, every day, without fail, radaring every vehicle taking the dare to go through the town on highway 69. The cop will pull you over for as little as 3 miles over the 55mph limit.

Comments:
Every two bit intersection from Sherman south on this wonderful road to avoid Dallas traffic going from OKC to Tyler, TX has a set of flashing yellow lights wig-wagging out over the highway. Lone Oak has to be different and set some rather un-noticable tunneled flashing yellows & a school zone speed limit sign as far off to the side of the road as is marginally legal to knock the limit down 20MPH at one whack. If they would spend some of the money this ambush generates they would be able to move the lights & signs out over the highway where people would be far more likely to see them. But that would only protect school kids from injury since drivers would actually see the signs and slow down, thus killing the towns only source of income. While Barney Fife was writing me up, his partner in crime (prevention?) stopped another car going the other way at the same location. My calculations come up with roughly $3600/hr in revenue in this quarter mile stretch. Makes Alex's Lemonade Stands look positively juvenile by comparison.
